Project Description
Ultra Sound Scans
Dolphins emit ultrasonic waves that bounce off objects, and the resulting echo forms images in their brain; that is how they know if there a fish or a simply a rock nearby. An ultrasound scan of the human body works in the same way: it allows us to see the condition of the organs and whether they are working properly, and to view internal masses in order to make a diagnosis when a general physical examination is not sufficient.
Tip: it is important to ask the specialist any questions you may have and follow their instructions before having an ultrasound scan in case there are any special requirements for some abdominal tests, such as fasting beforehand or drinking water.
At Activita Medical Centre, we carry out the following techniques and processes:
• Conventional ultrasound scan
• Obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound scans (4D)
• Vascular Doppler scan
• Colour Doppler echocardiogram
